Privacy Policy
This policy covers this website and the Echo Random audio plugins and apps, including beta builds. It is short because the site and the software collect almost nothing.
1. This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and does not fingerprint visitors. There is no account system and nothing to log in to.
This site is served by a machine Echo Random runs itself, using the web server that ships with OpenBSD. Like any web server it receives the technical information needed to deliver a page, such as an IP address and a browser user-agent string, but request logging is switched off, so none of it is written down, kept, or analyzed.
2. The plugins
The plugins do not collect, transmit, or store personal data. They do not contact any server, check for updates over the network, phone home, or require activation, registration, or an internet connection. They run entirely on the machine they are installed on.
3. The apps
Practical Weather, MindMoji and Reader have no accounts and no analytics, and none of them sends anything to Echo Random.
- Practical Weather uses your location, on the device, to fetch the forecast and air quality for where you are. It sends your coordinates to the weather and air-quality services it uses, which, like any web service, also see your device's IP address. Echo Random never receives your location. The forecast is kept on the device.
- Reader downloads the feeds and articles it shows directly from their publishers, who see the request as they would from any browser, and keeps them on the watch.
- MindMoji makes no network requests at all.
4. Purchases
Nothing is for sale yet. If that changes, this policy will be updated first to say who processes payments and what they collect.
5. Email
Email sent to the support address is retained so that the conversation can be answered and so that a later question about the same issue has context. It is not used for marketing and is not shared with anyone.
6. Mailing list
There is no mailing list.
7. Your rights
The only personal information Echo Random can hold about you is email you have sent, such as a support question or a request to join the beta waitlist. Nothing else is collected, so there is nothing else to look up.
To get a copy of what you have sent, or to have it deleted, write to the support address below, from the email address you used before. A deletion request gets one reply confirming it, and nothing is kept after that. If you have never written, Echo Random holds nothing about you.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
